Mural Upgrade

In the middle of 2021, after the upgrade of the Memorial and  creation of the Memorial Walkway, it was decided that the mural on the front and side of the wall would be upgraded, to show a more relevant and updated history of Australia's military involvement.

A local artist Matt Kelly, was chosen to create the artwork depicting scenes from WWI through to Afghanistam and peacekeeping missions. Volunteers from the RSL painted over the old mural and assisted with preparation before the mural was drafted and then painted. The mural took some time to be completed, due to weather conditions, illness and a certain bunch of bees who decided to move in for  a short visit. Addition and changes were made along the way. It was decided to continue the mural around to the carpark side of the club, showing scenes from Naval and RAAF history.



It looks fabulous and well worth a visit to check it out.
